Analysing the tick for Alongshan virus (ALSV)

The ALSV analysis includes two analyses – firstly, verification that the tick really is a tick (Ixodes ricinus) and whether ALSV viruses are present in the tick. Both analyses are carried out at RNA and DNA level using the real-time PCR method.

The analysis takes a maximum of three working days after arrival of the tick.
