Analysing the tick for Borrelia bacteria
The Borrelia analysis includes two analyses – firstly, verification that the tick really is a tick (Ixodes ricinus) and whether there are Borrelia bacteria in the tick’s stomach contents. Both analyses are carried out at DNA level using the real-time PCR method.
The analysis takes a maximum of three working days after arrival of the tick.
